Banana Bread

 
- 1/3 cup butter
 
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
 
- 1 tsp vanilla
 
- 1 egg
 
- 2 ripe bananas
 
- 1/2 cup raisins
 
- 2 cups flour
 
- 3 tsp baking powder
 
- salt
 
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
 
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Cream butter and sugar, add well beaten egg and vanilla. Mash ripe bananas.
 
- Sift flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg, adding alternately with mashed bananas.
 
- Add raisins. Mixture should drop easily off a spoon.
 
- Add a little milk if too stiff. Scrape into a greased loaf pan and bake at 350°F until golden brown and skewer inserted comes out clean.
